It managed to creep past my anti-virus software. I have sterilized my PC since, but I still get irritating pop-ups time and again giving me system alerts (this is the peculiar behaviour of the trojan – it induces you into downloading a so-called anti-spyware which happens to be spyware itself!). As long as I don’t download the suggested software, I’m safe – but, it is rather annoying to have those pop-ups ever so often…
I’ve realized that my PC needs more than just anti-virus or anti-spyware software – what I really need is anti-wifeware! Maybe I could convince her to switch over to Kubuntu…
